Elizabeth Mitchell "Heliconia Ikebana"

Elizabeth Michell is a local artist out of Tampa. Her work is in many private and corporate collections. white 100% silk is pinned to a frame. The lines are drawn with gutta resist, which creates a dam in the silk to separate the fibre-reactive dyes which are hand applied by brush. The silk is steamed for one hour to set the dyes then washed and processed according to final product requirements.
